A must-have for your car trunk!
I am so glad I bought this beach blanket. It is lightweight, has a nice color, and features a great design. While it's meant for the beach, it is also excellent for camping and picnics! I keep it stored in my car at all times so I can use it anywhere I go. Because it is completely sand proof and waterproof, it keeps us dry and clean on the ground. It is absolutely wonderful to have!

Great quality and well-made. Highly recommend. It’s water resistant and the sand quickly shakes off! A big plus is that despite the type of fabric, it doesn’t get hot to the touch…even in the Texas beach heat! Everything we have learned from making more than a million beach blankets, in one place: what makes a blanket sandproof, how big it should be, which fabric to pick, how to keep it down in the wind and how to make it last for years of beach days.
What “sandproof” really means
A sandproof beach blanket does not stop sand from landing on it — nothing can, once four people walk on with wet feet. What it does is refuse to hold on. WIWIGO blankets are woven so tightly that grains sit on the surface instead of wedging into the fibers. Lift a corner, give the sheet one shake and the sand slides off in a sheet of its own.
Compare that with a cotton towel or a fleece picnic rug. Their loops and fluff trap sand like a net, and the more you brush, the deeper it goes. That sand then rides home in the car, the washing machine and the bed. A smooth, tight weave is the whole secret.

Waterproof, quick-dry and cool to lie on
The same tight weave stops water. Drops bead up and roll off, so a dripping swimsuit, a wet dog or a knocked-over juice box stays on top instead of soaking through to the sand. It also means damp morning grass at a picnic or a concert will not wick up into your clothes.
Thin fabric dries fast. Hang a WIWIGO blanket over a chair after a rinse and it is dry while you pack the cooler. And because it is light-colored on many prints and does not hold heat like thick polyester fleece, it stays pleasant under bare skin even on a bright afternoon.
Which size beach blanket do you need?
Count the people who will sit on it at the same time, then decide how much of the day they will spend lying down. A seated adult needs about 20 by 30 inches; lying flat takes roughly 24 by 72. That is why a blanket that seats eight for lunch fits only three or four for a nap.

How to keep a beach blanket from blowing away
Wind is the reason most beach blankets end up on someone else’s umbrella. Our setup takes about two minutes:
- Stand where you will lay out and feel where the wind comes from.
- Point a short edge into the wind and fill those two corner pockets with a big scoop of sand.
- Unfold the rest downwind, then fill the other two pockets.
- On gusty days push the four ABS stakes through the corner loops at a 45° angle, leaning away from the blanket.
- Put coolers and bags along the windward edge; keep loose towels off the top.
Washing and caring for your blanket
Salt, sunscreen and sand are the three things that wear a blanket out. Getting rid of them keeps the colors bright and the weave smooth for many summers.
- Shake out sand before folding; never pack a wet, sandy blanket for days
- Rinse salt water off with a hose after beach trips
- Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with mild detergent
- Skip bleach, fabric softener and the tumble dryer
- Hang in the shade to dry, then fold back into the pouch
